“You Made History” – The closing screen words that summed up the spirit at Rage Factor at Finsbury Park in London on June 6th 2010. A testament to the power of social media today, what started off as a facebook group to usurp X factor winner from the inevitable christmas number one slot, started off an avalanche of musical backlash. Rage against the machine achieved the christmas number one as a result with the anthem ‘killing in the name of’, and to show their gratitude, played a free gig for the people who made it possible. All the proceeds from the sales of the single went to homeless charity Shelter. And what a gig it was! Rage personally chose their support acts, consisting of The Gallows, Roots Manuva & Gogol Bordello. Each artist rocked the 40 thousand plus crowd in their own style, bringing a true festival experience and it was an honour to be there and shoot it. Thanks go to Tracy & Jon Morter who started the snowball that turned into a mammoth musical avalanche that made history.
