Polly Cupcake : New Work & Behind the Scenes video

This image is part of a series of images for theatre & circus performer Polly Cupcake. It was such a fun shoot to do with the amazing set styling by Scarlet Winter (which I think was largely items from her home) and beautiful make up by Julia Jeckell. Retouching was by the talented Kieran of Response London. Thanks to everyone involved in the shoot which was a long days shooting but everyone worked amazingly hard and we came up with some stunning images.

If anyone is mildly interested in a lighting diagram then I will gladly draw one but there are actually five lights lighting everything to provide the old renaissance style of lighting I was hoping to achieve… see if you can guess where they are.

The talented Miss Lealea Jones

This is actually a shoot from last year but I’m a bit slack when it comes to posting new work and besides these shots are only just beginning to roll out. Lealea Jones is a very talented songstress from hackney with a very bright future ahead of her. As well as supporting acts such as Jay Z, Beyonce & Amy Winehouse; she has also been asked to pen a song for Rihanna! She is also great to watch live, with a sassy, jazzy style that I love. World faces @ World Travel Market

Cultural diversity is one of the things I love about London and the world travel market show at excel really amplifies our rich cosmopolitan city. Each country roll’s out their tourist industry wares for the week and the stands are a rich tapestry, manned by delightful people from around the world. In between shooting PR jobs I took the time to capture a few of the faces. Here are my favourites:

Magdalen College Ball, Oxford

I covered this event with my friend Rob from theballphotographers and we had a great time. I enjoy covering these events as the students are lovely to deal with and even though taking the formal ball photographs can be a bit of a conveyor belt process, we still had a laugh and got some great shots. I also feel photographing the balls at Oxford is a privilege and allows an insight into a world that has great tradition and history. The buildings and architecture are amazing both inside and out giving you great backdrops to shoot with. We set up near the rear gates for the formal portraits and with a few studio lights we had a setup that saw us through the night. Here are a few favourites, a mixture of formal and reportage images:

Had the pleasure yesterday of taking interview portraits of the head of the Serious Fraud Office, Richard Alderman, at their London office.
