Still Life Photography : High End Jewellery Shoot

I was recently commissioned to shoot some bespoke jewellery pieces by a small bespoke jewellery boutique. I don’t often shoot still life in the studio, however it was good to get back to my roots ( I started out assisting a still life photographer) and the jewellery looked amazing. It wasn’t just women’s jewellery it also included some stunning gentleman’s cufflinks, umbrella’s and shaving brushes. These pieces are all one off’s & commissioned pieces and the workmanship is simply breathtaking! A few hero shots & a few cut out’s on white with a reflection complemented the pieces perfectly…

This image is part of a series of images for theatre & circus performer Polly Cupcake. It was such a fun shoot to do with the amazing set styling by Scarlet Winter (which I think was largely items from her home) and beautiful make up by Julia Jeckell. Retouching was by the talented Kieran of Response London. Thanks to everyone involved in the shoot which was a long days shooting but everyone worked amazingly hard and we came up with some stunning images.

If anyone is mildly interested in a lighting diagram then I will gladly draw one but there are actually five lights lighting everything to provide the old renaissance style of lighting I was hoping to achieve… see if you can guess where they are.
